| Are Women Better at Learning Languages? | Time and time again studies have shown that in general, men score higher in math tests and women score higher in language tests. There are always exceptions as well, but the experiences of a numerous teachers pretty much confirm the scientists’ view.
What is the most important to success in learning a foreign language? Certainly it is a genuine wish to communicate with other people. While teaching a conversation class, it is instantly evident who are going to make the fastest progress for the reason that these are the ones who fast get involved by asking questions. And more frequently than not, it is the female members of the group that ask the most questions.
Naturally, women are simply more interested in human beings than men. They indisputably mean it when they ask something. Being wives and mothers may have something to do with it, so they are conditioned by society to be the ones that care. Men, alternatively, are less interested in people and more interested in things, particularly, cars, computers, gadgets, and so on.
So if you are man wishing to learn a foreign language with ease, you should get out of your learn to be more interested in people. Moreover you should als o swallow your pride when it comes to making mistakes. Women have fewer complexes about committing errors, for the reason that the significant thing for them is to discover things about their interlocutors. Making mistakes is a natural part of the process and we all learn by doing them. Because of the men’s psychology they sometimes see their limitations as a defeat and as a result they prefer not to speak at all. First of all such men should understand that learning a language is not a competition.
Learning to understand how other people think and what motivates them is the most important to good communication, which can be even more complicated in a foreign language. Therefore you should be more interested in the people around you.
