| Languages in the Future | Today there are three main languages in the world. We know that they are English, Chinese and Spanish. These three languages at present rule the literate world.
Among countless foreign languages spoken all over the world the most commonly spoken and certainly the dominant language throughout the world is English. In the USA nearly 82 per cent of the population is speaking English as their native language. English is the common language of business and everyday life.
Chinese is second of the large population of China at the same time as Spanish is the third most widespread language as a consequence of its extensive use around the world. Spanish is close behind English as the second most well-liked language in the United States. Approximately 12 per cent of Americans speak Spanish as either their first or second language. On the other hand, in general, Americans do not speak enough foreign languages. Approximately 370 million people speak English as their native language; whereas, approximately 1.5 billion people all over the world speak English as a second language. English speakers are focused in the business and tourism industries, so Americans can usually get by. But in an increasin gly globalized world, learning to speak a foreign language can take your connections to a higher level.
Nowadays we are seeing the start of the combination of English and Spanish namely in the US, and it is probably that this tendency will go on to increase and the English language in the US will use a lot of Spanish words. Of the numerous surveys the most well-liked language that people were interested to learn was Spanish. This not merely applies to the US, but in Europe as well. “Spanglish” as is the term for the combination of English and Spanish, will without doubt become more and more accepted in the future. In time to come as many as 30% of words used in the English in United States may be Spanish.
Meanwhile, it is predicted there will be software in the future that will assist in translating spoken languages. These are called voice synthesis programs. A person speaks into the program, and the listener will hear the translation in the language of his choice. This probably will not mean that less people will start studying foreign languages as software cannot help you away from the computer after all, and foreign languages stay an interest to a lot of people who like to experience different cultures and enlarge their horizons.
